About Dr. Abolnik
Dr. David Abolnik, along with his wife Karen and two adorable doodles Bella and Charlie, is the owner of the completely private My Pet's Veterinary Urgent Care. Dr. Abolnik has a focus in Emergency Medicine and Surgery and is proud to have spent the COVID crisis working in the busiest ERs of the West Coast.
During his career he has specifically sought out hospitals that do not turn sick patients away and he has brought this mentality to his new hospital. This has caused a lot of long nights and short weekends, but coming from a long line of doctors, he wouldn't have it any other way.
Dr. Abolnik is a trusted ER doctor of the community and has built a team around himself of some of the most experienced and brightest Veterinary Technicians, Assistants, Receptionists, and Doctors. If continued overnight care or specialty care is required Dr. Abolnik will always follow the case through and make sure your loved one is getting the best care possible, because that's what he would want for his Bella and Charlie.
Although his focus is ER and surgery, he understands how difficult it is to get Primary Care during these times, and provides a broad range of services for his patients. Although his favorite species are dogs and monkeys, Dr. Abolnik is a people person and will happily talk your ear off if you let him.

Family Life
Dr. Abolnik shares his life with his beautiful wife Karen, who is a local occupational therapist specializing in working with children with special needs. Together, they care for their two adorable doodles, Bella and Charlie, who are often the inspiration behind his compassionate approach to veterinary care.
As a family business, you will regularly see Karen tending to their many plants around the clinic. Karen has a great love for animals (especially dogs) and is excited to be a part of this journey with Dr. Abolnik.
