At MyPets Veterinary Urgent Care & Wellness, we understand that pet emergencies don't follow a schedule. That's why our ER-trained team is equipped and ready to handle critical situations when your beloved companion needs immediate medical attention. Dr. Abolnik's extensive experience working in the busiest emergency rooms on the West Coast means we're prepared for any situation.

Our emergency and urgent care services are designed to provide immediate, life-saving treatment while minimizing stress for both pets and their families. We maintain a fully equipped emergency suite with advanced monitoring equipment, emergency medications, and surgical capabilities to handle everything from minor injuries to life-threatening conditions.

We believe that no sick patient should ever be turned away, which is why we've built our practice around the principle of always being available when pets need us most. Our team is trained to quickly assess, stabilize, and treat emergency conditions while keeping pet parents informed every step of the way.

Time is often critical in emergency situations, so we've streamlined our processes to minimize wait times while ensuring thorough, quality care. Our triage system ensures that the most critical cases are seen immediately, while less urgent conditions are handled promptly based on severity and arrival time.

Beyond immediate emergency treatment, we provide comprehensive follow-up care and work closely with your regular veterinarian to ensure continuity of care. If specialized treatment or overnight monitoring is required, we'll guide you through the process and ensure proper transfer of care to the most appropriate facility.

Emergency Care Questions

Important information about emergency veterinary care

Should I call before bringing my pet in for an emergency?

While we accept walk-ins for emergencies, calling ahead when possible helps us prepare for your arrival and can reduce wait times. For life-threatening situations, bring your pet in immediately and we'll see them right away.

How do you determine which patients are seen first?

We use a triage system based on the severity of the condition. Life-threatening emergencies are seen immediately, followed by urgent conditions, then less critical cases. This ensures that pets with the most serious conditions receive immediate attention.

What should I bring for an emergency visit?

Bring any medications your pet is currently taking, previous medical records if available, and a list of any recent symptoms or changes in behavior. Most importantly, bring your pet safely and calmly to reduce their stress.

Do you provide overnight care?

For cases requiring overnight monitoring or specialized care, we work with local emergency hospitals and specialty centers. We'll coordinate the transfer and ensure your pet receives continuous care throughout their treatment.

What if my regular vet is closed?

We're here to provide care when your regular veterinarian isn't available. We can share all electronic records with your primary vet and work collaboratively to ensure continuity of care for your pet's ongoing health needs.
